Dr. Chan: Patient Centered TB Care

At the World Health Assembly, The Lancet held a seminar on 18 May, to launch its new series of expert articles on TB, and to announce the establishment of its TB Observatory to monitor the progress in the fight against the disease. A surprise visitor, Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of WHO, dropped by as she has a personal interest in TB. Here she discusses her experiences as a practitioner, and how patient centered care, with patients having choices, is the only way to go forward in the effort to turn back the TB pandemic.
